I want as many people as possible to be able to read my work, and if anyone else posts my stories on their site or writes stories based on mine it's a win for me, not a lose. I can see how appropriating my work without crediting me for it would be annoying, but I also see a lot of people (mostly on DeviantArt) standing there yelling about it without changing anything. Maybe people are basically nice, and if we make it easier for them to credit us it would help? Or maybe some people will just take anything without caring, and there's nothing that we can do about it. Whatever the case, I'd rather spend my time writing more awesome stories and encouraging people to read/write their own based on mine, instead of working on what I see as futile attempts to close the floodgates that were opened up by the Internet. Because there's really nothing we can do that wouldn't make everything more annoying for everyone. Sorry about the rant ...
